![]() ![]() You can probably find SOD2 survival tips everywhere, but here are my main ones. As for parts, just salvage any close quarters and melee weapons you get from plague hearts and other places. If you need to scavenge for some, it should be at gas stations and other fuel looking icons around the map. Fuel is kind of a joke IMO, I never ran out of it and only used fuel for gas cans and Molotov's. I found that Meagher Valley had lots and lots of materials especially around the bases, so whenever I needed to build something at home I would just walk outside and grab some material rucksacks from nearby buildings. ![]() But ammo is really important if you want to use guns, so scavenge for lots of it or get it from traders whenever possible ( many enclave's sell random ammo and especially military or other trained enclaves sell lots of ammo). I'll get into how to use ammo efficiently in the NPC paragraph. Ammo is always either a problem or a breeze. The morale of meds usage is that it goes easier if you have lots of members to balance the damage out. My survivors only ever got blood plague once so I never worried about plague samples and even used them to make bulk cures and sell for 500 influence. Sometimes I had to use emergency medicine for 2 meds but even then I still had plenty. I never had a problem with meds because I had enough members in my community that whenever my current character was hurt enough I could just switch to one that was healed. If you have a big community, then you should use a large slot for a farm, or at least build a garden and upgrade it or get a food outpost. I found myself constantly scavenging for food and it just wasn't in a lot of the places that it should have been. Using Resourcesįood was easily the biggest problem for me in the playthrough. Your first goal should be to upgrade to a workshop 2 and start crafting box mines to take out plague hearts and crafting tool kits from parts. I recommend settling down in Meagher valley because it offers the most in terms of resources. This is probably the hardest part about the beginning, and there's not much you can do except scavenge the nearby areas for toolkits and gas. You'll likely find that you don't have toolkits to repair you vehicle and you don't have gas to get it going. Plus, you can also call in a daybreak trader who sells some cool stuff. This can be made a little bit easier if you have the trader boon and call in the trader + get that 4k influence right of the bat. ![]() The beginning of any playthrough is always the hardest IMO. I'll provide a TL DR with all the important tips in the bottom of the post. Like the title says, I just beat State of Decay 2 on nightmare mode, and although that's not a huge accomplishment in this sub, I feel as though I had a unique playstyle and wanted to give tips to you guys.
